Privacy Policy

Kiplay ("we", "our", or "us") is developed and operated by Kiplabs (Dr. Karthik Herman Iyer), Hamburg, Germany. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the Kiplay application.

1. About Kiplay

Kiplay is a media player application only. It does not provide, host, distribute, or stream any content. All media content is accessed through third-party IPTV providers that you configure independently. Kiplabs has no control over, and accepts no responsibility for, any content accessed via third-party providers through the app.

2. Information We Collect

Kiplay does not collect or store any personal information on our own servers. The app operates primarily with data you provide directly, such as your IPTV provider credentials, which are stored locally and securely on your device only.

3. IPTV Provider Credentials

Your IPTV provider username, password, and server URL are stored locally on your device using encrypted storage. This information is used solely to connect to your IPTV provider and is never transmitted to Kiplabs servers.

4. Purchases and Subscriptions

Kiplay uses RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. When you make a purchase, RevenueCat processes and validates the transaction. RevenueCat may collect certain data related to your purchase. Please refer to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details.

Purchases are processed by Google Play. Google's privacy policy applies to all payment transactions.

5. Metadata and Artwork

Kiplay uses the TMDB API (The Movie Database) to fetch metadata and artwork for your local media library. Queries sent to TMDB contain only movie or series titles — no personal information. See TMDB's Privacy Policy for more.

6. Local Data Storage

The following data is stored locally on your device and is never shared with us:

  • IPTV provider credentials
  • Favourite channels and playlists
  • Watch history and playback progress
  • App settings and preferences
  • Cached EPG, logo, and poster data
  • Scheduled and completed recordings

7. Network Access

Kiplay connects to the internet to stream content from your IPTV provider, fetch EPG data, and retrieve media metadata. All connections are made on your behalf using credentials you provide. We do not monitor or log your streaming activity.

8. Children's Privacy

Kiplay is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Data Deletion

Since Kiplay stores all data locally on your device, you can delete it at any time:

  • In-app reset: Go to Settings → Danger Zone → Factory Reset to erase all locally stored data, including credentials, favourites, watch history, recordings, and cached content.
  • Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from your device.
  • Purchase records: If you wish to request deletion of purchase data held by RevenueCat, please contact us at contact@kiplabs.de and we will submit a deletion request on your behalf.
